Our Mission:
As a destination of choice, Sauder Village offers guests experiences rich in history, hospitality, creativity & fun.
This original one-room school built in 1890 was re-named “District 16” in honor of the school Village founder Erie Sauder attended as a boy. You’ll get to sit in the original school desks and learn about education in the days before computers and the Internet. On festival days this school is often the site of old-fashioned spelling bees and recitations which all guests can participate in.
